Who is Jack?

Some backstory: my mother fostered my love of reading and introduced me to my favorite author growing up, Anne McCaffrey. It was from her that I got my hands on the Dragonriders of Pern series even if perhaps I shouldn’t have been reading the scenes about the sex that happens between riders when dragons mate at the young age I started them. From there, I read everything that Anne McCaffrey wrote practically and after I left for college we’d always tell each other when we saw a new McCaffrey out at a store.

This love for all things Anne McCaffrey is also what ultimately led me to my career path today. When I was at GW and the Internet was just a-borning, I contacted Anne McCaffrey at her CompuServe email and broached the idea of creating what would have been in essence the Wiki Fandom for her multiverses to put it in modern terms. She actually did bless it at the time in her response to me, but I never managed to get it going but it solidified that this World Wide Web thing was what I wanted to do with my life. All because when I was in 4th or 5th grade, my mom handed me a book about telepathic dragons.

As a web developer, web development manager, accessibility evangelist, and user experience (UX) strategist with over 25 years of experience in the digital field, I am passionate about bringing business stakeholders, designers, and developers together in service to the end user to create intuitive journeys and interfaces.

When not creating inclusive digital experiences, I can be found exploring others’ perspectives through novels and theatre especially the works of Oscar Wilde and Stephen Sondheim.
